The entire team at Ingenza is sending heartfelt congratulations to our very own Dr Alison Arnold as she celebrates an amazing 20 years of working with us!
Alison Arnold, PhD, joined Ingenza in 2003 as Senior Scientist for our fermentation division. She has been the Head of Fermentation and Microbiology since 2009, and plays an integral role in driving our cutting-edge industrial biotechnology programmes spanning pharma, biofuels and renewable materials. During her tenure here, Alison has accumulated extensive experience in managing worldwide technology transfer of multiple bio-manufacturing processes, enabling production scale-up from 10 m3 to 2,500 m3 across a wide range of microbial hosts and mammalian cell lines.
Alison has published over 20 peer-reviewed scientific articles, and regularly delivers lectures to the MSc cohort at Scotland’s Industrial Biotechnology Innovation Centre, demonstrating her expertise in the field of bioengineering. She is also Ingenza’s representative to the Scottish Bioeconomy Council, advising Members of the Scottish Parliament on how engineering biology could be useful to the country’s development. In addition, Alison is a passionate advocate of women in STEM, and her impressive scientific achievements and position as a female role model were honoured with the first ever Scottish Women’s Award for Services to Science and Technology in 2018.
Ingenza marked Alison’s 20-year anniversary with a much-deserved event in December. We’re extremely grateful for her unwavering commitment to the company, and we’re looking forward to many more years of bioengineering innovation and success!
